ABOUT THE STRONG ASSESSMENT

The Strong Interest Inventory assessment helps individuals identify their work personality by exploring their interests in six broad areas: realistic, artistic, investigative, social, enterprising, and conventional (often referred to using the acronym RIASEC). ).

It then breaks the RIASEC areas into 30 specific areas of interest that can be directly related to fields of study, careers, and leisure activities. In addition, it describes an individual’s personal style preferences in five areas: work style, learning environment, team orientation, leadership style, and risk taking.

Backed by over 80 years’ research into how people of similar interests are employed, and what motivates them in the workplace
Measures preferences within 30 professional fields, from the arts to law
Ranks the top ten most compatible occupations from a possible 260 specific jobs
Based on large, representative norms that account for race, age and gender

For High School Students

The Strong High School Profile and the Strong Interpretive Report are included in this bundle. Expanding on the Strong Profile, the 10-page Strong Interpretive Report offers a more in-depth interpretation of your assessment. A 1-hour coaching session is also included to ensure you get the most benefit in understanding and utilizing your Strong results.

The Strong College Profile takes the wealth of career interest data provided in the Strong Profile one step further. It provides an additional personalized report that helps students explore the path that is right for them by identifying specific college courses, jobs or internships, and extracurricular activities that will allow them to express their unique interests and personal style. The Strong Interpretive Report builds on the College Profile by applying key learnings to create a richly textured road map for exploring and pursuing a rewarding life of work and leisure.

The Skills Confidence Inventory is a key tool for exploring how self-assurance may be influencing your students’ occupational, educational, and leisure choices. Linked to the six General Occupational Themes, this report graphically illustrates how students’ interests compare to their level of confidence in performing certain activities. The Strong Interpretive Report builds on the Strong College Profile by applying key learnings to create a richly textured road map for exploring and pursuing a rewarding life of work and leisure.

College Edition Highlights:

Helps students identify specific college courses and academic majors that fit their interests and preferences and that allow them to express what is important to them
Uses their interests to expand their exploration of courses, extracurricular activities, internships, and part-time jobs
Informs them about the educational requirements for occupations they are likely to pursue

Strong Interest Inventory Profile Report shows how your specific interests and preferences link to various jobs, work settings, and career fields. Expand your career options and chart an action plan toward a fulfilling career. The Profile provides information on the following Strong measures:

General Occupational Themes: your top Themes describing your work personality in areas such as interests, work activities, and potential skills
Basic Interest Scales: your top 5 interest areas, as well as areas of least interest
Occupational Scales: your top 10 potential occupations based on similarity of their interest patterns to those of satisfied workers in a given occupation
Personal Style Scales: your preferences for different ways of approaching people, learning, leading, making decisions, and participating in teams
